Sometimes after a bad game you hope that having a good night out, this time in Glasgow watching a new band have an album launch, will deflect from the fact that your team is simply god dam awful. For the first time in over seventy years Airdrie have lost to Albion Rovers in Airdrie and although most of us probably didn’t realise that record even existed the fact makes things even worse.

Kevin McBride stated in an interview that “in derby matches form goes out the window, the team that wants it more can win.” Shall we start there? It’s amazing how comments can come back to haunt you.
Players getting booked for mouthing off when there hasn’t been a real tackle in the match, is not passion its disrespect.
Players kicking a ball against the advertising boards in anger at half time when they haven’t put in a hard tackle in the whole half, is frustrating for the fans.
Being a full time team and being played off the park by part time teams, is just unacceptable.
If your half time substitute being awarded the man of the match award by the sponsor doesn’t tell you something then you’re an arrogant sod who’s not listening.
Then finally your team wanting it more than the opposition team, well that team certainly won on the day and it wasn’t the Diamonds.

It took Albion Rovers under two minutes to open the scoring a mistake from a corner saw Paul Willis scramble the ball in to the net.
Mark Ferry then doubled Rovers lead on thirty three minutes a low shot through a pack of players found its way in to the back of the net.
Then to top things off your most experienced player get a second yellow for a blatant dive it was embarrassing and somethings gone very very wrong.
I’m not even going to offer up that we were slightly better in the second half because by that time Rovers could sit back and laugh at what we were offering up.

Prediction League.

No change at the top of the prediction as neither Carlue Diamond or Sefton Blue are registered to win this seasons signed top. So Thundbird holds on to top spot for a second week.
