Airdrie host Albion Rovers in the New Year derby. I can't remember the last time we were sitting second in the league over the Christmas period and if we had a better start the 2016-17 season who knows where we could have been. This will be the third meeting between Airdrie and Albion Rovers in the league this season in the first match Albion Rovers brought to the end a 70 year drought, beating us 0-2 with goals from Paul Willis and Mark Ferry. In the return leg Airdrie got some vengence with a 1-2 victory goals from Andy Ryan and Iain Russell gave the Diamonds the lead before Ross Stewart got one back in the dying seconds of the match. Who will take the honours in the New Year Derby?
