An excellent display let down by some poor defending, would cover the first of our four 1st Division league matches against Partick Thistle, but that is in the past now and we have to start a new quarter with a good result to pull the Diamonds out of the hole they find themselves.
The International break seems to have came just at the right time for Sandy and the team and we will have almost a full squad to choose from. In real terms Alan Gow came through a reserve fixture in one piece and Paul Lovering has recovered from his broken cheek bone. Rumours on the site say Alan McManus is a doubt for the match but we have had no confirmation of that so far.

"A lot of the lads are in much better shape after the wee break and hopefully we can look forward to a good run of results," said boss Sandy Stewart.
"Looking back at the Filrhill game, we got ourselves back into the match and then failed to close it out. That has been a problem for us, putting a lot into games and then coming away empty-handed."
Airdrie rivalries in this league don't get any bigger and for many of us Partick Thistle is the team we love to hate. It will be a difficult game but we will have to take something from it.

The Thistle management duet have only two worries to contend with Billy Gibson with a knee injury and Jamie Mitchell with an un-named illness. They realise it is going to be a difficult test and sitting only three points above us in the league means their position is as untenable as any other in this half of the division.
