There is always a air of excitement surrounding this round of the competitions, the Premier and First division teams join the tournament and the remaining non-league sides have a chance of a money spinning draw.
Some interesting fixtures in the draw come from the Inverness Vs St Johnstone match, Inverness will be allowed to play their first home fixture of the season in Inverness, it must be disappointing for them though when you consider how crap the St Johnstone travelling support is.
Gretna Vs. Dundee United, could this be the game that ends Ian McCall's time as a Dundee United manager. Gretna are more or less buying the third division and could be one of the major upsets.
It's interesting to note that there are three fixtures concerning SPL teams the one mentioned at the top of the page and Hibs Vs. Dundee and Kilmarnock Vs. Motherwell will this make it easier for smaller teams to progress?
Our own draw, Saturday January the 8th 3:00pm kick off in Dingwall to take on Ross County. There were complaints that Ross County was cold when we played them in November, trust me, January will not be any warmer. The highlands in January are very nice but the chances of this fixture being called off due to road conditions are very high so anyone planning on making the journey make sure you know it's going ahead before setting out. This draw also means that we will be taking on Ross County twice in one week. Our first home tie of 2005 is against Ross County on the 15th of January.
Will we progress to the next round of the competition? honours are even between us so far this season but after our last match in Dingwall I don't think they have much to offer so I can see us progressing.
