As we all know Airdrie had a bye for the first round of the Bells Challenge Cup and that obviously means we are in to the next round, but who will we be up against?

The first round results were as follows.

Ayr United 0-v-1 Stirling Albion

Morton 3-v-2 Gretna

Peterhead 1-v-2 Berwick

QOTS 4-v-0 Albion Rovers

Raith Rovers 3-v-1 Elgin City

Partick Thistle 2-v-0 Cowdenbeath

East Fife 0-v-4 Stenhousemuir

Queens Park 0-v-3 Hamilton

Arbroath 1-v-3 Stranraer

Brechin 3-v-2 Clyde

St Mirren 1-v-0 Forfar

St Johnstone 2-v-0 Alloa

Ross County 2-v-1 Montrose

Dundee 2-v-0 East Stirlingshire.

So obviously in the draw to be held on Wednesday 3rd of August we are going to be up against one of the following teams.

Dumbarton

Stirling Albion

Morton

Berwick

QOTS

Raith Rovers

Partick Thistle

Stenhousemuir

Hamilton

Stranraer

Brechin

St Mirren

St Johnstone

Ross County

Dundee

Now the age old question comes to mind. What is preferable being in the cups for as long as possible or a difficult plumb draw?

From the list there are four teams I don’t want to face on a Tuesday night, Hamilton at home or away, because it’s just a crap fixture, Raith Rovers as we already have them in the CIS, Stranraer and Ross County because it ‘s just to damn far away on a Tuesday night.

If I had the choice it would be Partick Thistle, Morton or St Mirren Away for obvious reasons or just because I love the trip Berwick

So, Wednesday 3rd of August 2:30pm for the draw.

Who do you want?
