The legend that is Owen Coyle, who made over 200 appearances in a Diamond shirt, could well be on the verge of turning villain. We know his history and how his time as assistant manager benefited the club but it puts him in a very strong position to rip the heart out of the Airdrie team.
Dundee’s Alan Kernaghan is another who has given our team high praise; his focus would be Brian McPhee the best player in the first division according to the Dundee manager.
Ian McCall will also be looking to fill some spaces as his revolution at Queen of the South continues, whether Queens have the financial backing to come in for our players is another matter. We have to remember that McCall brought the likes of McManus and McGowan to Airdrie in his short spell as manager.
Could this be the biggest challenge to Sandy’s continuing success?
I am sure the board and Sandy are prepared to put up a fight for all our young starlets refusing them a transfer puts us back in the same situation as we were with Alan Gow, do St Johnstone have the wear with all to strip mine at Airdrie?
So where could other managers cause the most damage?

I have highlighted the players I think most of the managers in the first division could be looking at; most will be of no surprise.
Sandy and the team have been taking all the plaudits over the past few weeks with some fantastic results. Could this come to a crashing halt if other managers choose to tap our players?
Do Airdrie have the strength to do the same to other clubs? We know Ross County are in trouble, although rumours of their financial problems have gone quiet, there may be a few players that could be released that may help fill any spaces.
Do our current attendances give us any hope that we can expect to hold this team together?
