Mugello: We are satisfied with what we achieved

Sauber Petronas continued its three-day test at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello today. Heinz-Harald Frentzen covered 70 laps in chassis 05 to set a best time of 1:23.817. Nick Heidfeld will take over the driving tomorrow.

Jacky Eeckelaert, Head of Vehicle Engineering, commented "Like yesterday our test schedule basically comprised testing new aerodynamic parts and working on tyre data. On one hand we have focused today on the data verification of the wind tunnel tests, on the other we have worked on the aerodynamic for Barcelona.

"At the straight-line tests in Vairano yesterday and today our test crew has discovered some new possible aerodynamic solutions and now we are currently checking those data here in Mugello under race conditions. This is expected to help us with regard to our Barcelona preparation.

"We have also checked again the Bridgestone data in order to confirm our previous tyre selection. Overall, the car ran well and we are satisfied with what we could achieve today. Despite another engine failure in the morning we were able to carry out nearly the complete programme."
