Sauber Petronas begin testing at Paul Ricard

Sauber Petronas started its three-day test at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet yesterday. Heinz-Harald Frentzen covered 99 laps in chassis 05 to set a best time of 1:14.632. He will continue today before Nick Heidfeld will take over the driving on Thursday.

Speaking of the first day, Sauber Petronas' Head of Vehicle Engineering Jacky Eeckelaert said "Our schedule today focused on different configurations for Monaco. In the morning we tested several mechanical and aerodynamic set-ups as well as the cooling. Later we also worked on tyre data for Monaco. Unfortunately it was very windy at the circuit today which made it difficult for Heinz-Harald Frentzen to drive the car. This also effected of course our aerodynamic measurements and it was not easy to get reliable data. But overall we were able to complete our programme as scheduled."

Which is good news.
