There are two new venues on the F1 calendar this season, Bahrain and China. Team SAUBER PETRONAS got a sneak preview of Bahrain and did a demo run on the streets of Manama. This Sunday, they will make a similar trip to the new Shanghai Circuit.
PETRONAS is the title sponsor for this weekend's Shanghai International Race Festival 2004. The festival will include a streetfair in downtown Shanghai and two DTM races at the circuit itself. SAUBER will be there as part of a demonstration run of various PETRONAS Motorsports teams between the DTM races on Sunday. Drivers Felipe Massa and Neel Jani will thrill the crowd with their first taste of Formula One race cars in preparation for the innaugural Chinese Grand Prix on September 26. They will also be on hand at the streetfair to meet with the press and sign autographs for the fans.
Former SAUBER PETRONAS driver, Heinz-Harald Frentzen has found a new home in the DTM series this year driving for Opel. He will contest both rounds in the series' Chinese debut this weekend.
