The Clough & Taylor Stand.

Peter Taylor has already departed us. But his spirit lives on. Now, 25 years after he and Clough built a team that conquered Europe we take a look at the man whose name is a rare find in the history books.

it being 25 years since the European success and with most of my
articles now being based around this (yes, we're living in the past
but how many times have conquered Europe twice?), it has caused me
to think about why and how we managed to achieve such a feat.
The obvious answer would be Brian Clough's amazing management, although thinking about it maybe it should be "Clough and Taylor's beautiful partnership." 50% of a great 3 years at Forest were down to him and it is my view that he deserves at least some recognition. My immediate thought is to re-name the Brian Clough stand "The Clough & Taylor Stand." Yes, after he had departed Forest he went to the Sheep. Yes, whilst he was there he stole Robbo from under our noses. But- without Taylor we would have no glory days to speak of. Half of this very site's logo would be missing, a few of the chants you hear on a matchday wouldn't exist and we wouldn't have the pride of knowing we have achieved what derby County have not. Even if we don't re-name the stand what I have suggested he still deserves some recognition. This article is not so much about the name of our executive (Clough) stand but it's about principle and the fact that Taylor's name is almost never heard when talking about the Glory Days. *Run a google image search on him and see what I mean.* Please show your support for this idea by voting on the site poll.
