Stoke must improve offer if Commons is to stay.

Kris Commons has rejected Stoke City's latest contract offer. The 20 year old, Nottingham-born midfielder has stated that if he isn't going to join Forest then they will need to make a significantly improved offer than the one they have called 'excellent.'

Stoke City midfielder Kris Commons has stated that he would require a much improved offer if there is to be any chance of him remaining at the Britannia Stadium. The player is attracting much interest from us, with Joe Kinnear keen to bring the 20-year old Nottingham-born player Trentside.

 

Phil Goldman confirmed that Forest have made an offer and had this to say to the media: "But I honestly don't know what they will say. I am not surprised Kris is attracting interest because he is a very good player.

 

But whether he will be playing at Stoke, Forest or somewhere else, I honestly don't know, although he is very much angling towards Stoke."

 

Stoke City’s director of football refused to let slip that Forest have made an offer- although that would just be confirming what we already know to be true.

 

"We have made Kris what we feel is an excellent offer," he said.

"We have been trying to sign him for the last 18 months and we are still hopeful. We have been making improved offers all the time, but it comes to a situation when Kris has to make his mind up and decide what he wants to do.

"We have improved our offer on several occasions and we want to try and resolve it as quickly as possible."
