Luton's Matthew Spring for Forest?

In a bid to add strength and depth to Forest's midfield, Joe Kinnear has targeted the exciting young player, Matt Spring. Kinnear believes the youngster can enhance both the flair and steel on display currently in Forest's midfield.

Luton midfielder Matt Spring has emerged as a possible transfer target for Joe Kinnear, formerly manager at Kenilworth Road.

Spring, 24, who has progressed through the Hatters' youth ranks, is currently out of contract at Luton where manager Mike Newell has offered him new terms.

But Newell revealed he was pessimistic about his chances of retaining Spring, telling the Luton News: "I'm not holding my breath over him staying.

"I'm convinced he'll go to Forest or Leeds if they make him an offer, which I'm sure they will."

Looks like forest will be going head to head with Leeds again! Matt Spring sounds like a decent player (and Joe should know having been at Luton previously) so lets hope we're successful this time around. Adding Commons and Spring to our squad might be all we need. The attack look good, the defence looks great...all we need is some REAL competition in midfield. Hello Commons and Spring, goodbye Sonner and Gunnarson!
