Ex-Everton goalkeeper Paul Gerrard has signed for Nottingham Forest. The goalkeeper who stated that he would love to join the club only a few days ago- has now had his wish granted.

Its seems that the fine shot-stopper would also prove a loyal servant for the Reds. The player rejected offers from Leeds United and Ipswich Town to link up with his team-mates at The City Ground.

"I discussed all my options with my wife and family over the summer and came to the conclusion joining Forest was the best move.

"I really enjoyed my loan spell at the City Ground - there's a nice feel about the club, a good staff and I was made to feel welcome by the supporters, which is important."

This is Joe Kinnear's fifth signing and Mark Arthur has guaranteed that there would be at least eight players signing this Summer so watch this space!
