Will he? Won't he? There's been so much speculation over whether Marlon Harewood will once again been joining us at The City Ground recently. Some sites are saying he will, some saying he won't. We get the view of your average Nottingham Forest fan.

Marlon Mayhem

Tuesday 6th July 2004

Speculation linking the fans favourite Marlon Harewood with his former club Nottingham forest has intensified today. The forest player score over 50 goals for forest in his 2 seasons at the club propelling Forest to play offs two seasons ago with his sparkling partnership with Johnson. But after his move to West ham last season for 500 thousand pounds things didn’t go so smoothly for Marlon. The fans soon go on the back of misfiring Marlon, which resulted in Marlon playing on the wide right, a position very unfamiliar to him.

This has sparked stories that the striker is unhappy there, and is looking for a move back to Forest. This is backed up, as news is Joe Kinnear has Marlon high on his hit list of transfers and has been given permission to re-sign him. However Pardew told The Hammers web site:

"Marlon has already said himself that he is very happy at West Ham,".. "And has no wish to leave.”

However this in my opinion will only increases suspicions of Marlon’s happiness at West Ham. The fact that he has publicly denied reports is typical of players in this situation. Barmby at Leeds only last week publicly announced that he was happy at Leeds and was looking forward to the new season. Today he is looking for a new club. Not to mention a certain Mr Williams with his statements about being happy at forest and looking to sign a new deal, then before we knew it he had jumped ship.

It’s impossible to say one way or another on this, but every Forest fan would be pleased to see Marlon back, watch this space.
