Kinnear's optimism as we look ahead to new season.

In an interview, today- Joe Kinnear has spoken of his optimism for the new season and hopefully the players feel the same way. The manager has admitted that next season we will be playing in a tough league but that if we perform to the best of our abilities; then there is no reason we can't go up.

Joe Kinnear has today spoken of his ambitions for Nottingham Forest and his promotion dreams for next season. He has said how he believes that a club of Forest's size should be playing at a higher level than the one we are currently at has proved that it is not just us fans being big headed that think we are one with a large stature. The Reds finished last season with an impressive run of games without a loss and the relatively new boss at The City Ground has only been forced to experience the taste of defeat twice during his stay. "That sort of conclusion to the season gives us great hope for the campaign coming up and if we can reproduce that form come August I wouldn't think we'd be that far away from the promotion contenders. "We've got a realistic chance of doing well next season but I think it'll be a very competitive league, what with the likes of Wolves and Leeds United in there as well as Leicester which will be something of a local derby for us. "Firstly though, we must make sure we never again find ourselves in the position where we're struggling at the wrong end of the table.'' It's great to see confidence from a manager and when the man in charge of the first-team squad is optimistic of a good season, then so are the players. "I want to keep our run going and make sure whoever we play next season will have to be at their very best to beat us because we won't be lying down for anyone.''
