The Timbers move into second place with 24 points 1 point behind first place Seattle. Byron Alvarez gets a hat trick and is the team leader in goals scored with 7.

Match Report

July 3rd Byron Alvarez gets a hat trick after being subbed in in the 58th minute for Fadi Afash. The Timbers lost in Vancouver on Tuesday in the 90th minute of play 1-0. The Timbers played well most of the game but could not find the back of the net until Alvarez came into the match. This three goals scored by Byron gives him 7 goals for the season and the team leader in goals scored for the Timbers. Josh Saunders recorded is 3rd shut out in just four games as a Timber. The defense looked solid once again and the mid field play was good. I want to thank Wolf and Rob for making it down from Vancouver. We had a great time with them again at the Bitter End.
