Shaymen first home loss of the season

Ex Town keeper Phil Whitehead makes three outstanding first half saves to keep Tamworth in the game in an entertaining encounter. But Town are out-smarted by gritty Tamworth defending and a free ranging talented forward Rickards. It's the Bank Holiday blues yet again at the Shay. 

First Half
03 Powell heads wide for Tamworth.
05 Nice passing movement Elam to Mallon to Price on the right wing defender clears his cross.
09 Lee long range effort easily covered by ex Town keeper Whitehead.
10 Cooper long range effort over bar.
11 Two quick fire Town attempts on goal charged away.
13 Shot from Cullen just wide of the right post.
15 Elam tries his chance shot from distance, keeper Whitehead tips it onto the bar, ball bounces back into play and cleared.
17 A head back for a Mallon shot produces a miracle save from Whitehead parries it over.
19 Good cross field run from Elam sends Lee down the right wing, crossed for Killeen and another good stop by Whitehead who parries the ball out Cullen picks up loose ball and shoots over and wide.
25 Shot from Tamworth's Scott wide and left of target.
28 Good long ball cross field Quinn to Mallon, cross gathered by Whitehead.
33 Cross from Rickards saved by Davies.
43 Tamworth corner finds unmarked man, headed over.
44 Good angled shot from Warner, produces fine save from Davies, parried for corner. Resulting corner finds another unmarked man, headed on bar and cleared for a corner.
45+3 0-1 Goal for Tamworth in the dead of time added on, a Tamworth shot took a deflection off the Town defence and found Rickards 10 yards out and unmarked, made no mistake with his well struck shot.

Second Half
47 Scott shoots wide right of target.
49 1-1 Cooper corner finds Robinson unmarked in the box, easy header past Davies.
62 Substitute Farrell produces stunning full length save from Whitehead after good work from Elam.
63 Another Tamworth free header flies wide of Davies goal.
65 1-2 Goal. Good through ball inside the angle of the box from Sandwith, finds Midgley in space, makes no mistake with a stupendous first time volley past Whitehead.
67 A twice taken free kick, but Midgley fires the second one over.
74 A good reflex save from Davies and the rebound is headed over.
80 Shot over from Killeen after a good Town spell.
83 Sandwith corner finds Parke, headed wide.
84 Powell cross and Rickards shot produces another good save by Davies.
89 Last gasp now, Sandwith cross too close to keeper easy catch.
