Second loss in a row for the Shaymen

A critical and crucial time for Wilder to re-assess his squad after inept performance at Underhill. Town are trounced by the Barnet Bees fuelled by Williams and Grazioli. The Town defence failed to get a grip on Barnet’s hat-trick hero goal machine Grazioli.

I was dumbfounded when Farrell came on for right back Price, with Midgley pulled back to right back. What a waste of resource Mr Wilder.

It was a long journey home from North London.
 

First Half
03 Williams crosses for Strevens who shoots over the bar.

08 0-1 The Halifax defence is either stranded or looking for offside, Grazioli sneaks in at the far post on the left after receiving a cross from Gamble on the right, fires the ball across Davies’s body into the net.

09 A weak Midgley free kick bounces behind off the angle of right post and bar.

15 1-1 Cameron nods a nice flick on for Killeen who unselfishly passes back for Midgley unmarked inside the box, it’s sharp, crisp and “Remington” sharp into the bottom left of the Barnet net.

17 Barnet win their first corner Wiiliams crosses Davies fists it clear.

18 Garnett free kick Elam heads wide.

26 Hendon’s free kick weak and trickles out for a goal kick.

27 Town’s first corner, Barnet seem to panic the ball away.

31 Another dangerous Williams cross, but Davies gathers Grazioli’s weak header.

39 A Midgley free kick is headed strongly by Garnett, always going high and wide.

45 2-1 Free kick for Barnet right hand side of area, Williams cross finds Plummer unmarked and easily heads the ball home.

Second Half

49 Town defending a series of Barnet corners and losing the initiative.

51 3-1 Hendon receives the ball in the Town area from the latter Williams corner, side steps the ball to Grazioli, lets face it, he doesn’t miss a half chance. It’s oh so easy for Barnet.

53 Gamble shot clears the bar.

60 Gamble plays it to Hendon, who fires from distance, Davies has problems gathering the ball. Barnet are on fire and town are out of it.

63 Killeen plays through to Cameron, who lays it to Mallon, but the shot is weak.

64 Garnett receives a long lecture from the referee, already on a yellow, he must be careful. King’s free kick hits the Town wall.

68 4-1 The lean, mean goal machine Grazioli finds his way into the Town box from Yakubu’s swift pass and it’s an easy slip it in for his hat trick.

82 Weak Lee header Naisbitt collects.

83 Farrell to Killeen who’s cross across the goal is easily collected by Naisbitt.

86 Sandwith’s free kick is botched by Garnett, who fails to apply any good foot contact from only six yards out.

89 Sylla’s shot bounces back slowly off the post, with Davies nowhere, Garnett takes a year to clear the bal away from danger.

90+1 Sandwith free kick headed in by Garnett but was easily ruled offside.
