Portland survives the match in Utah to face there next foe from the MLS the San Jose Earthquakes in Portland July 14th! Two goals is what keeps the Timbers in the quest for the cup

June 30th Salt Lake City 1 Portland 2   Timbers move on to the fourth round of the US Open cup with a win over Utha! Alex Bengard scored the game winner on a free kick 29 yards out. Byron Alvarez score the first goal from a pass from Bengard in the 33rd minute. Utah score 65 minute when ex timber Fadi Afash put it in goal. Next up for the Timbers in the US Open cup is MLS San Jose!
