San Jose puts Portland out of the US Open Cup

The Timbers work hard but get nothing to show for their efforts as San Jose makes it look so easy. Jake Sagare puts a nice shot on goal that keeper Jon Conway of San Jose is fored to make a great save.

July 14th Portland 0 San Jose 3 After all the hype the match turns into a big disappointment as defender Gavin Wilkinson receives a red card for taking down  Brian Ching  in the penalty area in the 18th minute. So much for Portland advancing in the US Open Cup play.  Ronnie Eukland coverts the PK for San Jose  as the rest of the match sees San Jose put it in cruise control.  Portland did put up a good fight but were over match playing a man down. Ramiro Corrales  of San Jose scored their second goal  in the 55 minute.  The last goal was put in by San  Jose Dwayne DeRosario 80th minute of play. For more on this match go to The Timber Mill
