Renault Boss Flavio Briatore claims that the team are up there with Ferrari after Fridays two practice sessions on at the opening round of the 2007 World Championship in Australia where the team finished of the session in 4th position on the time sheets.

After a steady winter testing where people have been writing off the chances of the ING Renault F1 team Flavio Briatore has came out after the first practice session and stated that the Champions should not be forgotten and are up there with pace setters Ferrari.

This comes after the first 2 practice sessions of the season where Giancarlo Fisichella managed 12th in the first session and then stepped up the performance and managed 4th in the second session, and was brought to a halt on the circuit by a fuel pressure problem.

Flavio stated, "The car is quite good; we are not worried,"

"Fisichella stopped on a really quick lap, so he could have been nearly as quick as the Ferraris. Cliquez ici...

Everyone forgets that we are the world champions and we have a good car; you will see.”

"We know that Ferrari are fast, but if we can sort a couple of things out then we can ride along right at the front in this season."
