Robert Kubica joins the Renault F1 Team in 2010
By Renault F1
October 7 2009
The Renault F1 Team is delighted to announce that Robert Kubica will drive for the team from the 2010 season onwards.
The 24-year-old Polish driver is one of the most highly-rated young drivers in Formula One, who has proved his ability as a race-winning driver and whose aggressive and consistent racing style have seen him as a contender for last year’s drivers’ title.
Team Principal, Bob Bell, commented: “We are very excited to have signed Robert with the Renault F1 Team starting next season. Ever since Robert made his Grand Prix debut in 2006, he has been on our radar as one of the most naturally talented drivers of his generation and he has delivered on that promise so it’s great to have secured him in one of our cars next season. Renault has high ambitions and hopes for the future of the team and we feel that Robert can play a big role in fulfilling them.”
Robert Kubica commented: “I am very happy I will be joining Renault in the 2010 season. I feel I have a special connection with this team because in 2005 I won the World Series by Renault. This gave me the chance to test with the team in Barcelona, which led to my debut in Formula One.”
Robert continued: “I share with Renault a strong winning mentality and feel comfortable with their friendly and open attitude. I’m highly motivated and optimistic that together we can be at the front of the grid next year and hopefully fighting for the world title.”

The car next season, called R 30, will learn from this season. The engineering department has incorporated the two major regulatory changes in 2010, namely a large tank due to fuel supplies allowed, and the front tires closer. Then, Renault has chosen a very different aerodynamic concept. The R30 is equipped with a nose longer and diving, and a front lot more complex than the R29. Finally, the position of center of gravity of the chassis has been shifted forward to better exploit the tires.
WHEREAS KUBICA Tuesday?
Fernando Alonso's departure, Renault must use the services of a driver to play leading up table. Negotiations with Robert Kubica are very advanced and a formal announcement to be made as early as Tuesday. Place of Romain Grosjean, meanwhile, is not spared. Renault have approached the German Timo Glock and Nick Heidfeld, respectively Toyota and BMW Sauber.
THE RETURN OF THE MARK YELLOW.
To return to "the real values Renault>> The Diamond would use colors directly from its history in Grand Prix. The dress of the R30 would be a wink to the cars of the 1970s, focusing on yellow, black and white. The main sponsor ING will be replaced by a multiplicity of contracts.
ONE LAST UNCERTAINTY.
The question is whether the Renault really wants to stay in Formula 1? A board of directors should decide on this issue next month. If the diamond decided to leave the sport, it would retain its activity and engine to separate from its base chassis in Enstone.
The arrival of new teams to research infrastructure, including Lotus or USF1 could facilitate this transaction.

PS: Good to see the black back at the retro stylish livery, though I think Total's red will have a prominent appearance too
Racing against the machine!
Kubica will then, and this is not really a surprise, flying in the month of November to the Renault R29 for the first test session.
Renault F1 should also announce soon the of season test program.

I think that first test session is allowed only after 31st December 2009
That's with the 2010 car the R30, but he might test the R29. The team will be testing new systems for the R30 on the R29.

I think it would be nice to have Hekki with Kubica.. Hekki really was setting the pace.. Even Alonso was not keen on having him as a team mate..
Being in Mclaren ruined him if u ask me.. Its time for Hekki to come back and show what he is made of..
Cant wait for next season.. licking my lips to see how the car will look like..

No but we should have is as soon as the season is over.
From what I remember only testing that is allowed for rest of the 2009 is with young drivers who have not competed in more than 3 GPs over last two years. Or something like that...
