The Renault F1 Team continued its development programme today at Paul Ricard, which was still in Monaco configuration. Alonso and Kovalainen continued to work on the preparation of the Monaco GP and they remained focused on tyre testing in order to choose the envelops for this very specific race.

Fernando Alonso started his programme with set up changes in order to adapt the car to the track and then he worked on tyre testing until the end of the session.

Heikki Kovalainen had once again a busy day mainly focused on tyre testing with our partner Michelin.

It was a very positive day for the team as the Renault drivers covered a lot of laps: 122 laps for Fernando Alonso who set the fastest laptime of the day in 1’05.363 Heikki Kovalainen covered 111 laps and set his second-fastest laptime in 1’05.546.

Christian Silk, Chief Test Engineer: “We worked pretty well these past two days and it was a very productive session for the preparation of Monaco. We did good progress and the drivers seem to be pleased with the set up of the car. We are very satisfied and confident”.
