The Dundee game against Hearts Match Report. With 7055 turning out to see Jim Duffys first league game in charge and Dundee since he returned. Dundee deserved to win but unfornately had to settle for a draw.
1 Dundee V Hearts 1
| Jim Duffy has still not won a
game at Dens yet but he certainly deserved to win the game today. Dundee dominated the game and Hearts were lucky to score from a good Free kick which was taken by ex Dundee Player Steven Boyack and was headed in the goal by Hearts player Gary Wales. Dundee kept pushing forward and Juan Sara was unlucky not to have scored 4 or 5 goals with the chances he had. Juan Sara had an excellent game and was unfortunate not to score but Dundee were helped by a terrific 1 on 1 goal from Fabian Caballero. The 7055 support were happy with what they saw and it was a good game of football though there were bad mistakes from the referee which could have ruined the game. Dundee showed that they could pull there sleeves up and dig in something they were unable to do under Ivano Bonetti. A person who everyone will be happy with was Nacho Novo who had an excellent game and would have deserved the man of the match. Novo was unlucky not to score and looks to be an excellent player with a big future. What Novo lacks for size he makes up in pace and should that by continuously beating the Hearts defenders as he made runs down the wing. Hernandez also showed why Jim Duffy thinks that he was worth joining the club with an excellent game and he done well pushing up and making a few chances for the team. Hearts dominated for a short spell at the start of the second half but this was about all Hearts dominated. It was in the 65th minute that Caballero scored after a good pass from Gavin Rae. Caballero got the ball and quickly rushed past Hearts defenders and slid the ball past Niemi to make it 1-1. Juan was then giving an opportunity to finish Hearts off with Nacho Novo sliding the ball into Sara who had an open net in front of him but instead didn't quite get the shot and hit the ball towards Niemi instead. Caballero then got the last chance of the game in an identical move to his goal though this time he slid the ball past the post. The Dundee fans will be happy with what was on show and hopefully Dundee can get a win against Rangers who draw today 1-1. The Dundee team was the following: Speroni Hernandez, Smith, Mackay, Wilkie Rae, Nemsadze, Mair Sara, Caballero, Novo
