SPL: Gazza signing for Dundee
By James Hegarty
August 4 2002
Ex Rangers, Lazio and England hero Paul Gasgoine could be on his way to Dundee in an assistant manager role. This would see Dundee have Gazza in what looks like a Player/Assistant manager role and maybe be offered a captains role as well. This would also bring good publicity to Dundee.
According to today's Press Dundee could be set to move for former Lazio and Rangers star Paul Gasgoine
The 35 year old Geordie was set for a move to America but that fell through and Gazza is now wanting to continue his career in the UK.
This is most likely to be in Scotland for a last spell at the top level.
Gazza is rumored to be thinking of a move to Dundee as a player coach or Wolves and Portsmouth as a Player.
The offers for Wolves and Portsmouth are going to be short term deals.
Gazza is meant to be looking for a club to keep his fitness up so he can move to America for when there season starts in January.
Gazza though may be tempted to stay at Dundee if he is offered a deal which could offer him a coaching position which could help Gazza get into coaching.
If Gazza wants to move into management this could be a good move for him.
Gazza could sign before next week and debut against his old club Rangers and hopefully maybe show them what there missing.
Dundee like moving for players that have proved could bring publicity to them in the past such as Caniggia and Fan Zhiyi so it would be no surprise if Gazza signed.
Gazza left Burnley in hope of a management move and Dundee will be a great move so here is hoping.
Though one bad thing there would probably be no slagging of Charlie Millar no more for being overweight but we could slag him for being rubbish at football and Gazza can run circles around him while laying the ball of too Nacho for Nacho to score to make it 4-0.
