| Recent Form : Whilst Queen's enjoyed a much easier win at Coatbridge than many would have anticipated, Elgin's home game against East Stirlingshire was held over until Tuesday evening, and their 3-1 win took them back above Queen's again. Prior to that, whilst Queen's have now only lost one of their last eight matches, Elgin's run is less impressive with only one other victory in their previous ten games; that coming in the corresponding away fixture with East Stirlingshire way back on 29th September. Indeed, in the four fixtures prior to Tuesday night's victory, they suffered three 4-0 defeats (v Peterhead, Morton & East Fife);their only salvation coming in a 1-1 draw at Coatbridge. | ||||
| Likely Outcome : Queen's must start as firm favourites for this one, despite the absence of Tony Quinn and Stephen Canning with their long term injuries. With Danny Ferry possibly set to resume his midfield role (Ross Clarke looks a slightly better bet than Richard Sinclair to be the player to give way, unless John Gallagher doesn't get his left wingback slot back), Queen's should still prove to be too strong, and it will hopefully only be a question of how many. And therein lies the problem. As John Gemmell so deftly proved in injury time last week, he is finding goals hard to come by at the moment, and a 1-0 win may be all that Queen's have to show for their endeavours. | ||||
