| The FA Cup 3rd round quaifying has been drawn, Vauxhall take a difficult trip to Bradford Park
Avenue. Bradford gained all six points over Vauxhall last season with two 1-0 wins, but Vauxhall won back
some pride with a 6-2 win this season at Rivacre Park. The tie will take place at The Horstfall Stadium on
Saturday 11th October.

| Under-pressure Mike Walsh has parted company with Southport, Mike Walsh and his squad
were booed off the pitch to the chant "one man team" at this weekends FA Cup exit at Rivacre
Park at the first hurdle.
In a club statement Chairman Charlie claimed "We have a number of very good footballers at the club. With Mike Walsh it simply has not worked. We were in deep trouble when he arrived and those problems sadly were not arrested. Managers are judged on results. At the start of the season we said coming second was not acceptable. Therefore our current position and cup exit made change inevitable. Mike has been totally committed to the club and he is gutted it has not worked the way we all wanted. Football is all about performances and to be more exact results. Tony Hesketh will act in a caretaker capacity and he will get the support he needs if he requires to bring players in. We go into the Barrow match with 99 points to play for. It is well within our capabilities to put a run together. Tomorrow night we need all our supporters to rally as I know they can and we can all get back on track. I will await applications for the post as manager and Tony Hesketh has the first opportunity to show supporters his qualities. |
