France to face Italy in World Cup Final

MUFC's Mikael Silvestre has the chance to get his hands on the World Cup crown following France's hard-fought 1-0 win over Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. Les Bleus will take on Italy in Berlin this Sunday, with the Azzuri impressing following a 2-0 victory over Germany.

France and Italy will do battle in Sunday's World Cup final.

The Italians left it late, but secured a 2-0 win over host nation Germany thanks to extra time strikes from Fabio Grosso and Alessandro del Piero as their potent attacking threat prevailed over Jurgen Klinsmann's men.

Meanwhile, the French were somewhat less impressive but did enough to secure a 1-0 victory over Portugal. Zinedine Zidane, in the penultimate game of his professional footballing career, netted the only goal of the game to leave the French a win away from the World Cup crown.

Cristiano Ronaldo was in action for the Portuguese, whilst Mikael Silvestre warmed the bench for Les Bleus.
