Watford are on the verge of landing United 'keeper Ben Foster on loan for a second season. The youngster was on superb form with the Hornets last season as they achieved promotion to the Premiership, and looks set to spend another twelve months at Vicarage Road.

Manchester United 'keeper Ben Foster looks set to spend a second successive season on loan at Watford.

The young shot stopper was influential as the Hornets secured promotion to the Premiership through the play-offs, and his form resulted in him being placed on 'stand-by' for the England squad following Robert Green's injury, indicating he is already England's fifth choice goalkeeper.

Foster made 48 appearances for Watford last season and supporters will be delighted to see him return to Vicarage Road. He is a player who looks a fantastic prospect for the season, and earning a campaign of Premiership experience with the newly-promoted Londoners will only help his development.

The deal is expected to be confirmed after United's tour of South Africa, with Foster set to play a leading role on the tour with Edwin Van Der Sar to be rested and Tim Howard moving to Everton on loan.
