In true ManUtdWeb fashion, columnist and messageboard favourite 'EmptyRed' has told supporters to "Keep the Faith" ahead of the new Premiership season. His words follow a young United side impressing with a 3-0 win at Celtic.

We beat a good Celtic side on Wednesday night and rather easily at that. We put many of the youngsters out tonight at Parkhead and they played exceedingly well. But for many that will not hide the disappointment, disillusionment or frustration at our lack of transfer activity.

However, Fergie is not to blame for a lack of signings, at present. When we have to pay off £60 million in interest payments per year, then there is not going to be a lot left in the transfer kitty. So lets get real. I can remember when we relegated in 1974. The situation we are in, is as no way as bad as that. We finished second last season without a recognised midfield. We played our best attacking football, when we had Saha and Rooney up front and Ruud was on the bench. Chelsea have raised the bar and we cannot compete with them financially, that is not Fergie's fault. However there's over a month left in the transfer window. So who knows what Sir Alex, will pull out of the hat?

Remember if we listen to some of the fans, then Fergie would have been sacked before that third round FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forrest, all those years ago.

Have faith and get behind your team, stranger things have happened in football. You never know.
