Baggies Reject Second Kuszczak Bid

West Bromwich Albion boss Bryan Robson has rejected a second Manchester United bid for goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak. The Midlands outfit are reported to be demanding Giuseppe Rossi on loan in addition to the £2.5million that has already been offered.

West Bromwich Albion have turned down a £2.5million offer from United for Polish goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

Bryan Robson has now turned down two bids from Old Trafford for the 24-year-old shot stopper, with former Red Devil and current Baggies boss seemingly anxious to negotiate a better deal for the player.

Reports suggest Robson is anxious to see United striker Giuseppe Rossi head to the Hawthorns on a loan basis, and would be willing to let Kuszczak go if this wish was fulfilled. However, Sir Alex Ferguson is reluctant to let the youngster leave, even on a temporary basis, with the departure of Ruud Van Nistelrooy leaving United short of attacking options.

West Brom are desperate to add a striker to their ranks ahead of the new Championship season, and see Rossi as a player who could help spearhead a quick return back into the Premiership. However, with the Italian looking likely to stay at Old Trafford, the Red Devils may have to look elsewhere to find back-up for Edwin Van Der Sar, unless a new compromise can be reached with the Midlands outfit.

The collapse of the Kuszczak deal could also have a major affect on bright prospect Ben Foster. The United youngster has agreed to join newly-promoted Watford on a twelve-month loan deal following a successful spell at Vicarage Road last season. However, if United fail to land a new 'keeper before the start of the Premiership campaign, Foster may have to stay to warm the substitutes bench.
