Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed reports linking Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna with a potential move to Old Trafford. The United boss is a fond admirer of the 30-year-old and could be on the verge of agreeing a fee for the player's services.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted his interest in bringing Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna to Old Trafford.
Press reports have been linking the Red Devils with the 30-year-old's services for some time, and Fergie has confirmed the player is a leading transfer target.
"There is interest in Senna but there is interest in other players as well. We are trying to find different combinations in midfield." confirmed the Scotsman.
"Hopefully, something will happen next week."
The Spanish international is perhaps not one of the biggest names in European football, but plaudits regard him as an experienced 'holding player' who would add great vision and awareness to United's midfield.
Villarreal are said to value Senna at the £3.7million mark.
