Champions League - Group Stage Fixtures

Manchester United will kick-off their Champions League campaign at Old Trafford against SPL Champions Celtic. Amazingly, this will be the first ever competitive game between the two giants. United then travel to Benfica before a double-header against competition new-boys FC Copenhagen.

Following the draw for the Champions League group stages, Uefa have now released the tournament fixtures.

Those who scowled at the tediousness of the draw itself were in for another treat as over-paid officials undertook another tombola to determine who would play where and when! It all made for pathetic television viewing, but it yielded further good news for United fans.

The Red Devils will kick-off their European Cup campaign with a mouth-watering home tie against SPL Champions Celtic. United then travel to Benfica before a double-header against competition new-boys FC Copenhagen. United's group F challenge ends at Old Trafford - hosting a Benfica side which ended our Champions League dreams last season.

Fixtures are as follows:

Manchester United v. Celtic - 13th September, 19:45.
Benfica v. Manchester United - 26th September, 19:45.
Manchester United v. FC Copenhagen - 17th October, 19:45.
FC Copenhagen v. Manchester United - 1st November, 19:45.
Celtic v. Manchester United - 21st November, 19:45.
Manchester United v. Benfica - 6th December, 19:45.
