Sir Alex Ferguson has been named Premiership manager of the month following the Red Devils' superb start to the campaign. Meanwhile, for the first time in his career, Ryan Giggs has been named the league's top player for the month.
Manchester United have been double trophy success after the club's superb start to the new Premiership season.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been awarded the Premiership's manager of the month award, whilst Ryan Giggs has been named player of the month - amazingly for the first time in his illustrious career.
"The awards are testimony to the fantastic manner in which United have opened the new campaign, playing an exciting brand of fast and attacking football," said Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards Panel.
"It's hard to believe Giggs has never received the accolade before, but he thoroughly deserves the award for the performances he's put in during August."
The Red Devils have enjoyed a superb start to the new campaign, securing victories over Fulham, Charlton and Watford as they raced to the top of the Premiership table. Ferguson will be keen to avoid the infamous 'manager of the month' curse as he looks to continue the club's superb run of form ahead of games against Spurs and Celtic.
