A broken metatarsal looks set to rule French international Mikael Silvestre out of action for up to six weeks. The defender sustained the injury during United's recent 1-0 reverse at the hands of Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Mikael Silvestre faces a six-week lay-off on the sidelines with a broken metatarsal.
The United defender picked up the injury during the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal earlier in September and now faces a frustrating spell in the treatment room.
However, the Reds have been boosted by the recent return of Gabriel Heinze from long-term injury.
