United extend lead to six points / F A Cup draw.

United beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside with goals from Louis Saha (pen) and Darren Fletcher. The home side levelled the game in the second half before the Red Devils secured the points with a strong geader from the Scotsman in front of the away supporters.

United should have been three or four nil up by half time but a dubious penalty decision gave Saha a chance to bury his Parkhead miss and put the red in front.

In the FA Cup we have been drawn at home to Aston Villa in the third round, it's nice to get a home tie after recent seasos but Martin O'Neill's team will prove a stiff test for United.
