John O'Shea scoed a lat late goal in front of the Kop to give United a victory and all three points in a match which saw Paul Scholes sent off for swinging his arm and missing the target! Louis Saha had a good shout for a penalty turned down too, in what was a great afternoon for United!

Three points and a win at your most bitter rivals was all that the fans wanted, the home supporters trudged off not believing all their pressure had failed to break through a resolute United defence!

Rooney took a knock and was replaced by match winner John O'Shea with 17 minutes left.
