United were beaten 2-1 at Fratton Park by Portsmouth in a pulsating match. The defeat leaves the red devils three points clear of Chelsea who beat Spurs earlier in the day. Alate goal from John O'Shea and some frantic action could not save the points....

We had some decent chances but their keeper made some excellent saves. These things happen. It has come at a bad time but we have showed character all season and must do so again now."
