Manchester United are on the verge of completing a double swoop for youngsters Andersen and Nani. The pair will join the club for a combined fee believed to be in the region of £27million. United have also confirmed the signing of Owen Hargreaves since the end of their title-winning season.

Manchester United are on the verge of securing the double signing of Porto midfielder Andersen and Sporting Lisbon playmaker Nani.

The duo will move to Old Trafford in a deal believed to be worth a combined fee of £27million.

"Terms are agreed with both players and an announcement will take place once a medical and other procedures are done," read an official club statement.

Brazilian Andersen, 19, is touted as an amazing prospect for the future and has already broke into his country's national squad. He is a left-winger with plenty of pace; with United having reportedly fought off competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea for the player's signature

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Portuguese international Nani is another player expected to have a bright future ahead of him. At the age of 18; he became the youngest player to appear for Sporting Lisbon and went onto make 58 appearances for the club; netting nine goals in the process. He is a highly versatile player who can play on the flanks and up front.

Splashing out so much money on such an untested pair of players marks something of a gamble from Sir Alex Ferguson; but both players will arrive at the club boasting plenty of credentials. A deal is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
