Sunderland boss and former Manchester United star Roy Keane is rumoured to have offered £2million for former team-mate Paul Scholes. The Red Devils star may struggle for first-team football next season and Keane has made a cheeky bid for the former England international.

Reports suggest that Roy Keane has made a shock £2million bid for Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes.

With Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Andersen all on their way in to Old Trafford; Scholes could face problems getting regular first-team football and Keane is said to have made a cheeky £2million offer for the player's services.

The ex-United star and Irish international led Sunderland to the Championship title last season and is now looking to build a squad that can make a real impact in the Premiership.

Scholes would certaintly be an impressive acquisition for the Black Cats; but will Sir Alex Ferguson really be prepared to listen to such offers for one of his most talented players?
