Rossi Joins Villareal in Shock £6.7million Deal

Manchester United have parted company with young striker Giuseppe Rossi. The 20-year-old has joined Spanish club Villareal in a deal worth a whopping £6.7million. Sir Alexn Ferguson was very reluctant to sell the starlet; and was only persuaded by the size of the offer and Rossi's desire to find first-team football.

Manchester United have raised a few eyebrows with the £6.7million sale of Giuseppe Rossi.

The 20-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the Italian club after finding first-team opportunities difficult to come by at Old Trafford.

Rossi has always been regarded as a player with immense potential and is goalscoring record for the reserve-team is phenomenal. However, the immense competition for places at United has meant Rossi's development has not been as quick as he may have liked and the attacker has left in an attempt to further his career.

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he tried to persuade the youngster to stay in Manchester; but also hinted that we may not have seen the last of the player at the Theatre of Dreams.

"He wanted to have a go at first-team football. We've got a clause in his contract where he could come back to us at some point." said Fergie.

Whilst United will be disappointed to see Rossi go, £6.7million is a mammoth fee to receive for such an unproven talent.
