Fergie confident as United head to Rome

Sir Alex Ferguson is in a confident mood ahead of Tuesday’s crucial Champions League quarter-final, first-leg in Rome. The Red Devils have played the Serie A giants twice already this season and Fergie is confident that his side have what it takes to cope with Roma, who will be without skipper Francesco Totti.

United met Roma twice in this season's group stages. A 70^th minute strike from Wayne Rooney settled the contest at Old Trafford, whilst a young United side including the likes of Danny Simpson, Chris Eagles and Gerard Pique claims an impressive 1-1 draw away from home.

Fergie seems confident that his side can build on those results with another positive scoreline against the Rome club.

"Roma have improved this season but we have played them twice already and we know what to expect," said the United boss.

"It won't be easy but, the form we are in now, we are looking forward to it."

However, the Reds mustn't be complacent despite their recent good record against Roma. They have already disposed of Real Madrid - and are still desperate to avenge the humiliating 7-1 reverse which knocked the club out of last year's competition over twelve months ago.
