SAF and Queiroz slapped with conduct charge

Sir Alex Ferguson and Carlos Queiroz have been disciplined following comments they made after United's F.A Cup reverse against Portsmouth. The pair were incensed as 10-man United lost 1-0 thanks to a Sulley Muntari penalty-kick. United were denied a good shout for a penalty and that left the management duo seething.

Sir Alex said that referee Martin Atkinson's performance was "not acceptable", whilst his assistant branded him a disgrace to the game. They have now been charged with improper conduct.

Fergie later accused referees' chief Keith Hackett of "not doing his job properly".

Both were fuming after United were denied a penalty-kick when Cristiano Ronaldo was charged down by Sylvain Distin.

The club have until April 17^th to appeal. After that date, both men could face a hefty fine and touchline ban for their actions.
