Rio wants to finish career with Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand wants to finish his career at Old Trafford. The England defender has two-years left to run on his current deal but has announced his intent to stay with the Red Devils for the remainder of his playing career. The former Leeds man was linked with a move to the continent last season, but appears very settled with life in the North West.

"I have two more years on my contract, I'd like to finish my career at United." said the 29-year-old.

"The club have made an approach to my agent but there's so many games it's difficult to get around the table.

"By the end of the season, if not sooner, it should be done and dusted."

Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are establishing one of Europe's most formidable defensive pairings this season; with Rio's recent England captaincy testimony to his performances for both club and country.
