United should sell want-away Ronaldo
Happier times

The sight of a few die-hard supporters holding up anti-Ronaldo banners in a reserve team friendly at Burscough is unlikely to cause any club officials sleepless nights – but it’s a clear indication of how United’s 42-goal superstar has gone from hero to complete zero in a matter of weeks. MUFC should cash-in on the player now and give him his ‘dream, step-forward’ move to Real Madrid.

The support Ronaldo received from United supporters last season was unbelievable - he was adored, idolised and comfortably established himself as one of the most popular characters at the club.
As Ronaldo's 42-goal haul helped United to a league and European Cup double - the fans were happy to put the Portuguese winger on a pedestal and compare his undoubted brilliance to the likes of George Best and Eric Cantona.
However, just weeks after Ronaldo lifted the Champions League trophy in Moscow - a growing number of the club's supporters, arguably a majority, want him out the door and whisked off to Bernabéu as soon as possible.
A group of United fans unveiled banners to that effect as Ole Gunnar Solskaer's reserves kicked-off their pre-season campaign with a win at Burscough on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Reds' travelling contingent sounded less than impressed with the player as Fergie's first-team won 2-0 at Aberdeen.
Fans have been left increasingly disillusioned following Ronaldo's latest comments. Weeks ago, he described a transfer to Madrid as a "dream" and a "forward move". Now, the 22-year-old has backed up comments from FIFA president Sepp Blatter that the saga lends itself to "modern slavery".
Ronaldo's job is to play professional football for Manchester United. It's a cliché - but the majority of the club's supporters would do that for free. He's paid an obscene amount of money to pull on the red jersey - yet considers himself a slave. He's hardly in touch with the working-class fans of Salford, is he?
Sir Alex Ferguson doesn't want Ronaldo to leave and that's understandable. Losing his most-valuable player to a top European rival will show weakness; and the Scotsman will also have to fill the void left by the winger's departure. However, the time has come for the club to bite the bullet and cash-in on Ronaldo.
He doesn't want to be here and the fans, after half-a-summer of Ronaldo's outbursts, want him gone. His transfer value will never be higher - so the club could do a lot worse than cash-in and spend the money on two or three world-class additions to the squad.
If this saga continues, expect a few flags at Burscough's Victoria Park to just be the tip of the iceberg.

Perhaps the man should go after all he's said?

Whatever happens, dont really care and not losing any sleep. Just hope it get resolved soon so SAF and everyone can be back 100% focused and talking about the CLUB, the long gruelling season ahead and the defence of our two big ones.
I think he will stay. Whether he wants to or not is a different story.
Possibily alter that from "I think he will stay" to Sir Alex will get what he wants, none other way about it.

Sell him. There is nothing worse than a want away player. Get a lot for him and buy Schweinsteiger. And get Alexis Sanchez as well, he is a superb player. Please don't get Berbatov, I would rather we waited and got Benzema.
Its not FM 2008 y'know.
I'd rather berba than benzema. Benzema's already said his drem is madrid, so he'll just do what ronni is doing after a couple of good seasons. Berba wants to play for utd. He does'nt rely completely on pace so he'll still have 5 maybe 6 seasons in him.

Shouldnt we be the ones taking the @#$%&? Its easy to take the @#$%& out of a fan who supports Wolves but how can anyone, especially a Wolves fan, take the @#$%& out of a fan who's team has just won the league and champions league? Go away, your words have no impact and i, for one, couldnt give a@#$%&about what you wrote ^, however nice you tried to be as you'll just start being your usual pratty self again.

It's unfortunate and it's a fact. My reason for this is when looking at how easily swayed most ("MOST" - not all) fans are when the mighty media is introduced into the equation.

but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, the little w&nker is playing everyone off against each other. where is his loyalty to a club that took him from Sporting Lisbon and made him into what he is today?
how does he look Nev, giggsy, scholey in the eyes?
Wolves have took the pi55 out of you lot longer than you have took it out of us where was you lot when Wolves were the team to beat in the 50's ? ill tell you knowwhere thats where.1 day my friend 1 day when utd finnally blow up and go into the dark days who will you support then? i suopport my local club and always have done who did you used to support ? perhaps liverpool when they was winning everything?

Quote:where was you lot when Wolves were the team to beat in the 50's ? ill tell you knowwhere
Well yeah, i was nowhere. i wasnt even born yet.
But to answer your ignorant question. We won 3 first division titles in the 50s, which by my vast mathematical skills was, oh my god, the exact same as you.
Quote:i suopport my local club and always have done who did you used to support ? perhaps liverpool when they was winning everything?
You know bringing out the glory hunter card in every post makes you look stupid and weak, not me.
Oh well.
____________________________________________________________
Anyway i was only pointing out that you always come here and spout @#$%& but with nothing to back you up, except of course the 50s, which i shot down straight away. So what else do you have? Nothing? Ok, goodbye.
suppose the race card will come up, now

Who is taking the @#$%&?
Arsenal fans? They havent won a title in 3 seasons.
Liverpool fans? No league title in 18 years.
Chelsea fans? We beat them to the league title and in the CL final.
Fans of clubs not playing in the premier league? Why.
So you see noone can actually take the @#$%& and upset us because we're a better club than any club in the world and you support the epitome of useless.
As i said before, go away.

did u see that wonder goal that wolves scored in last years champions league? no? neither did anyone else.... back to school in a few weeks, tards gone, yay!!! football is not just about the champions league its about passion and supporting your team through thick and thin something that glory hunters know nothing about.can you honestly say your a real fan of man utd? ask yourselves these questions and if you answer all 5 yes then ok you are if not your glory hunters.
1. have you a season ticket or attend more than 20 games a season?
2.do you try your hardest to obtain away tickets where the real fans of your club go?
3.did your dad or relative take you when you was so young you cant even remember the game but you fell in love with them.
4.you sing you heart out at every game????????? Q 2? lol
5.can you honestly say your a real fan..
be interesting to see your answers....

Surely Chelsea have the most glory hunters in Europe but i know why you do it. What else can a Wolves supporter do to keep themselves happy? Your team is useless and you know it, so will you be avoiding relegation this season?
Surely you shouldn't care for our opinions?
We only go and support our team through thick and thin, watch every game, sing our hears out whether we could of couldn't get tickets.
Envy dosen't suit any person. But it's just pointless a) over the internet and b) when your grammar is shocking as is your 'argument'.

well atleast ive won this arguement.you cant answer the questions as you have probably only been to a couple of games live miles from manchester .my best mate is a utd fan he lives in manchester he was born in manchester and is a season ticket holder home and away, and he cant stand the likes of you lot who say your fans your the one's who ctually tarnish the club you say you support.(Sm127)
Creating a fake friend and calling him a United supporter just to improve your argument is plain weird. It is plain to see that that is what you have done. Your best friend supports ManUnited, that is just too convenient and a very weak statement as i dont buy it.
Anyway its been nice talking to you as always, you bring so much to this board as you barely talk about anything else other than Manchester United so thank you. With the amount that you discuss ManUnited i have come to the conclussion that you're a closet ManUnited supporter, so who is the glory hunter now?
Anyway, as i've said previously, go away. You have no argument, you're always talk about us, you're a closet United supporter and you need to make up a fake friend who supports United to better your argument. Sad and pathetic.
born in moston by the pub called the railway, lived there for 20 years then moved into the city itself ,you see i was born in manchester myself but moved to wolverhampton when i was 5 but still have relatives and mates up there so made up he is not..but thanks for caring..

Why is this thread still alive?
Lets to put it to sleep now.
We support Manchester United FC.
You support Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
I mean if there is anything else to clarrify, please, keep it to yourself.
Or better yet - ask your "friend"!

close the thread???? is that because you know im right?xxxxx

You havent made any sort of a point your only argument is "glory hunter" so really noone knows what point you're trying to make. Unfortunately for us trolls usually just @#$%& off after awhile, which is a good thing, but the unfortunate thing is that you're a regular member of this website so you're not going anywhere anytime soon.
So i'll let you hear what you want to: Yes mesiah you're right, you have made your "point clear". So please spare us any further harm and go away you Manches um i mean Wolverhampton supporter.

See what happends now is that we all say that we attend over 20 games as standard (along with the other questions), You call us liars and "prove your point"!
Oh you!
I'm pretty confident that I could say that I was in fact a Manchester United reserve player, but you wouldn't believe me.
But if I said I was a underclass student who barely knows what colour our kit is and who that "Bobby Charlton fella was", you would leap on that!
I've an idea. Becuase you will no doubt (and I would like you to pay reference to "no doubt") out wit me with your rebellious grammar, would someone who isn't a "true supporter" honestly reply to this nonsense?
I don't know, it's a genuine question, answers please.

but you havnt answerd the questions yet..rogero has and fair play to him..you say your manunited4life so how many games do you actually attend? thats all i want to know.
Maybe you had a brain freeze (that would actually require one) because you seem to believe Rogero. I could answer all the questions, tell you that i attend matches and you wouldnt believe me so, no thanks.
Stick to your rock solid "point".
But thanks for your interest in our great club. Goodbye.
Before you go, hopefully for good, im going to ask you something, take Robbie Keane for example: He was born in Ireland, there isnt much of a league in his country so he would've been supporting a big club in Euirope, ManUtd, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc. So knowing that information, why didnt your supporters boo him in the 2 years that he played for your club? Same situation as the point you're trying to make.
As has been proven once again you have no point and you've cheered on a "glory hunter".Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 2008:08:22:03:07:56 by ManUnited4Life.
