Manchester United and title rivals Arsenal have been linked with a move for Belgian youngster Axel Witsel. However, Standard Liège have ruled out a move for the 19-year-old defensive-minded midfielder unless a huge offer is tabled. The youngster already has more than 60 appearances to his name.

Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out any significant moves in the transfer window - but United continue to be linked with a hosts of youngsters from across the continent.

Belgian international Witsel is rumoured to be one of the names on Fergie's shortlist, with Arsenal also keeping tabs on the highly-rated teenager.

However, Liege have released a statement insisting the player will remain in Belgium unless a whopping offer is put on the table. They are thought to value the player at an incredible £20million.

Witsel is already a regular in the Liege line-up and played an integral roll in their league championship winning campaign last season. He was also handed the Young Footballer of the Year award in Belgium.
