Fabian Delph could be the latest player to cross the Pennines and sign for Manchester United from bitter rivals Leeds, according to The Sun. Speculation is linking the 19-year-old midfielder with a £6million switch to Old Trafford, despite the fact that Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out the possibility of making any significant moves during the transfer window.
Delph is an attacking-minded midfielder with a keen eye for goal. He is well-regarded as a bright prospect for the future and has already represented England at under-19 and under-21 level.
Reports claim that Fergie is lining up a £6million bid for the player - and could send Darron Gibson and Rodrigo Possebon to help sweeten the deal and beat off competition from Fulham, who are also expressing interest in the player.
The Sun Newspaper is adamant that United have launched a bid to bring Delph to Old Trafford, and note that any potential fee for the player could rise to as high as £10million due to a series of add-ons.
The youngster was arrested and charged for drink-driving in Rothwell two days before Christmas Day. He faces a January date in court. With Ferguson's penchant for discipline in mind, this perhaps throws an element of doubt over the rumours.
He has 31 Leeds appearances to his name and has found the net on five occasions.
