Queens Park Rangers are hoping to sign young Manchester United frontman Danny Welbeck on loan. The 18-year-old has won some first-team recognition for the club this season and netted his first United goal in the 5-0 Premier League win over Stoke back in November. Reports also claim that the Ghana Football Association are keeping tabs on Manchester-born Welbeck.
Welbeck featured against QPR earlier in the season - winning a penalty as United edged out the Championship side by a single goal in a dour League Cup clash.
Now the Championship club want to sign Welbeck on loan as manager Paulo Sousa looks to resurrect his side's flagging play-off bid.
The filthy-rich Loftus Road club currently sit ninth in the Championship and are five points behind sixth-placed Preston.
Sir Alex Ferguson is reported to have knocked back an approach from QPR to take Welbeck on loan for the rest of the season - but the London club are now prepared to settle for a one-month loan deal in an attempt to lease life into their league campaign.
