Catalan giants linked with swoop for Evra

Reports in Spain are once again professing Barcelona’s supposed interest in Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra. Since making a £5million move from Monaco in 2006, the French international has established himself a reputation as one of the most admired defender’s in Europe.

Josep Guardiola is thought to be a huge admirer of Evra and would be prepared to bid £15million for the full-back services.

Barca have been linked with a move for the player before - and press coverage in Spain has again dug up the story, claiming that the Catalan club would love to bring the 27-year-old to the Nou Camp.

Sir Alex Ferguson, however, is unlikely to listen to offers for the player.

The former Nice man is regarded as one of United's most important players and has notched up 131 appearances since joining the club in January 2006.
