Carrick on pressure games

Michael Carrick claims that the Manchester United squad are thriving on the number of big games coming their way. The Red Devils face Everton in the last four of the F.A Cup on Sunday; less than four days after doing battle with Porto in the second-leg of the European Cup quarter-final. Let's hope he's right!

It's massive match after massive match for United at the moment - but ahead of Sunday's Cup semi-final with Everton, United's midfield engine Carrick insists that the squad thrive under pressure.

The former Spurs man said: "Every game from now until the end of the season is huge for us. That's what we want - we enjoy big pressure situations and they don't come much better than that - the incentive of getting to finals."

United are still aiming to win an unprecedented quintet of trophies this season following Wednesday's superb win in Porto. The Reds became the first British club to win at the Estádio do Dragão and, having already won the League Cup and Club World Cup, are still in the F.A Cup, European Cup and currently top the Premier League.
